​Welcome
Lighting of the Christ Candle:
We light this light in the name of God the Creator who said “Let there be light” and there was light.
We light this light in the name of God in Jesus, light of the world.
We light this light in the name of God, Holy Spirit: Light in our darkness, a lamp to our path.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
Let us keep a moment of silence and become aware of God's light within ourselves and all around.
*Opening sentences/ Call to worship
We ate breakfast this morning. 
We ate dinner last night. 
We are grateful for full fridges and produce aisles
Market stands overflow with seasonal food.
Yet there is an ache in our stomachs
an empty hollow waiting to be filled
When will all children of the world wake up to a bowl of cereal?
When will all have enough to eat?
In worship we turn to the words of life for all
The passion of Divine Justice which calls to us
“You give them something to eat”
Looking for help in our helplessness 
we open our hearts to worship which comforts and changes. 

​Opening Prayer +
God of healing and transformation,
we hunger and thirst for your abundant life.
We bring you our sorrow and ask for the bread of joy;
we bring you our despair and ask for the bread of hope;
we bring you our weariness and ask for the bread of inspiration.
Meet us here.
We need the bread of heaven to sustain us
as we journey to find our way,
that we may we be one with you.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
Invitation to Reconciliation( silent prayer)
Communal Prayer for Forgiveness:
Holy God,
Holy and mighty,
Holy immortal One
have mercy on us.
Words of Assurance
The same God who gave Manna in the wilderness asks us to trust that we have more than enough.
The same God who sets a table for us, opens wide the doors to the hungry of the world. The same God who fed the 5000 by the seaside frees us to break the loaves and share the fish.
May we taste and see the goodness God has prepared for the world and for us.
