What It's Like to Come to Worship — FAQs
What is worship like?
Our worship service follows a fairly regular order each week. We have community time, prayers, sermon; offering is collected, and sometimes there is communion or baptism. We sing hymns from two United Church of Canada hymn books: Voice United and More Voices.
What should I wear?
Come as you are! We encourage everyone to wear clothing that makes them feel comfortable. For some people, that means wearing something special on Sunday; for others it means to come in casual dress.
St George & St Andrew United Church is a scent-free environment. Some people report sensitivities to various scented products, and we ask for everyone's cooperation in our efforts to accommodate their health concerns. Please do not use scented products while at church.

What do you offer for children on Sunday mornings?
Children join the entire church family for the service. Children are loved by our congregation! We encourage children to be part of the service as they can light candles, read, greet at the door, or play in our play area. We also have a team able to provide child care.
Where are you located?
393 St George Street, at the traffic lights in Annapolis Royal, NS. Courtesy parking is available at the courthouse near by.
What time do you meet?
Our services are every Sunday at 11:00 AM (10:00 AM during July and August). They last 60 to 70 minutes and are followed by fellowship time in the lower level of the church where you can meet folks and share tea, coffee or juice and a snack.
Where do I go when I arrive?
Enter through the big doors at the front of the church, or through the wheelchair-accessible entrance. You will be welcomed into the sanctuary and given a bulletin (order of service). Feel free to sit anywhere you like. There are hymn books in the pews. Don't be shy to introduce yourself and ask questions. We would love for you to join us, and you are most welcome to stay afterwards to meet people after the service.
Will I feel welcome at St George & St Andrew United Church?
Our church is wheelchair accessible in most areas and want to invite ALL people to be a part of our church community. We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, straight, gay, rich, or poor. All are welcome to join our congregation.
What makes St George & St Andrew United Church exciting?
We are the “church on the corner” that strives to be a central part of the community. We host diverse programs for the community ranging from Messy Church to The Paperwork Project, plant sales, community suppers, and more. We try to reach out to those in need as well, both in our local and global communities. Our music and choir is said to be exceptional for a small church such as ours. We strive to be inclusive and accessible to all. This includes working to make our buildings barrier-free, creating a place in our worship space for infants to play and their parents to sit, and performing marriages for people that love each other, regardless of gender.
